Here\u2019s how getting started works with some tips from one of our in-house experts Heidi on how to best prepare for the screening process.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>Tip: After signing up, your Medely profile will show you the necessary steps and missing documentation our staff needs to validate you as a professional.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Signing up<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pro.medely.com\/sign-up?\">You can quickly sign up here<\/a>. When you first sign up for Medely, you are required to share information about yourself and upload a r\u00e9sum\u00e9 or work history. All of this information is necessary to make the next step as easy as possible for anyone signing up.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>Tip: Make sure your r\u00e9sum\u00e9 or work history is as up-to-date as possible before you schedule a phone screening, including any previous per diem work or local and travel assignments. This will ensure a smooth phone screening process!&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you upload your work experience, you will be able to schedule a phone interview with one of our clinical specialists. Specialists are usually RNs themselves with an extensive history in clinical settings, and they will walk you through your entire Medely onboarding process up until you book your first shift.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Phone Screen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Screening calls are led by clinical specialists and focus on background-specific questions meant to discover your experience in certain areas. Each specialty has its own specific set of questions that need to be asked to prove competency.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Heidi, one of Medely\u2019s clinical specialists says, \u201cThis is not a typical interview, like, \u2018Tell me about a time where you had a difficult patient and how you dealt with it.\u2019 This is more about the competency you have in areas that you work in, so when you book those shifts you feel comfortable going into that facility because you&#8217;re confident you can work in that area.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>Tip: Interviews are usually focused on clinical aptitude. Clinical specialists will ask you technical questions to gauge your competency.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Credentialing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>After asking competency questions, the clinical specialist will walk you through the next steps. One of these next steps is uploading your credentials to the Medely system. These are important to verify your ability to work in the specialties you\u2019d like to find shifts and assignments. Uploading these documents as quickly as possible to Medely will speed up the onboarding process.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We want the credentialing process to run smoothly, and our credentialing team and clinical specialists are trained to help assist with any questions that you have about the credentials that you will need to upload to your profile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>Tip: Uploading pictures of your credentials to Medely via your smartphone or tablet can make it easier than using a computer.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Heidi shared with us, \u201cWhen I got hired on, they made us go through the whole process, and it was much easier for me to have pictures on my phone of my credentials and upload those straight into my profile. If they have a smartphone, they can do the whole process from their phone from start to finish.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Skills Self-Assessments<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>After uploading your credentials, you will be asked to fill out a skills self-assessment for each specialty. These skills self-assessments are self-guided and are shared with facilities alongside your credentials when you book a shift. This gives facilities an idea of your skillset and ability to jump right into their workflows.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>Tip: Getting these done as quickly as possible helps you book shifts faster.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Background checks are the final phase of the onboarding process. However, Heidi shares that \u201cbackground checks aren\u2019t going to trigger until you get the skills assessments done.\u201d It\u2019s important to thoroughly complete your skills assessments sooner than later.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">After you\u2019re approved<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>After these simple steps and approval, you can book per diem shifts and apply for assignments on Medely. You will receive regular updates about per diem shifts and assignments you might be interested in. You can also log into your profile and search for shifts and assignments that fit your criteria. If you have any questions, you can always reach out to your clinical specialist, who can walk you through any issues you may have using Medely.
