Connie Miranda, Director of Nursing at DLV Vision ASC, has used Medely to keep her facility running smoothly and efficiently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We sat down and talked with her about how she\u2019s used Medely to maintain a consistent surgery schedule and provide a positive experience for all of her patients.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Q: How did you get into healthcare?&nbsp;<\/strong><br>A: \u201cEver since I was a child, I wanted to be a nurse. I actually started as a nurse in 1972 as an LVN. Then, I went to the University of Texas and graduated in 1987. I just went straight into the operating room, and then I just went up through the ranks of charge nurse, coordinator, and I became a manager and a director at the hospital. Then, I decided to leave the hospital and go to an ASC in Westlake Village, where I was there for four years. One of the doctors that worked there recruited me to be his director of nursing here, where I currently am.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Q: Why did you start using Medely?&nbsp;<\/strong><br>A: \u201cWell, I knew Medely from my previous job at a specialty surgery center. So I came to DLV, where I am now, and already had an account set up with Medely. So, I continued to use Medely. I don\u2019t use any other registry.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Q: Was there a moment that you realized Medely was working well for you?<\/strong><br>A: \u201cI think it\u2019s just always worked well. I pretty much put the request in and then check it once or twice. That&#8217;s about it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Q: Is there anything that surprised you about using Medely?&nbsp;<\/strong><br>A: \u201cI think what surprised me is the people that have worked in the operating room. We\u2019ve only had three or four people that have come that have operating room experience, and it surprised me that they were able to integrate very quickly with very little direction.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Q: How would you describe the professionals you\u2019ve booked through Medely?&nbsp;<\/strong><br>A: \u201cVery professional.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Q: Has using Medely professionals impacted or changed the quality of care you provide?&nbsp;<\/strong><br>A: \u201cAt times, it does. We only use registry when we really need it, so absolutely, it fills a need. I mean, we\u2019ve all really enjoyed her personality as well as her teamwork and her ability to keep things moving in sterile processing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Q: Is there anything you want to add that I haven\u2019t covered?&nbsp;<\/strong><br>A: \u201cOverall, we\u2019re very pleased with working with Medely, and I find it extremely easy to post open positions.
