Open 24\/7, one single callout has a ripple effect that impacts not just one floor but the entire facility.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adrian Shodi, CNO at Baylor Scott &amp; White Medical Center &#8211; Trophy Club,&nbsp; knows this all too well. In his time as CNO, Adrian has been no stranger to the compounding effects of a consistently understaffed facility.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe had a lot of vacancies when I came on a year ago, and it&#8217;s kind of like two steps forward, one step back. Just when you get close, something else happens,\u201d Adrian shared when discussing his staffing needs.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adrian was previously at a surgery center, so his previous staffing approach was a bit different. <a href=\"https:\/\/medely.com\/blog\/what-happens-when-urgency-is-the-default-in-hospital-staffing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hospital staffing<\/a> requires a more holistic view of the available staff, callouts, and patient demand. And with more positions necessary to keep a hospital functioning 24\/7 for emergency care, the stakes are higher.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But Adrian had one constant in his back pocket.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Medely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How Adrian uses Medely to fill staffing needs<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Adrian shared that Baylor Scott &amp; White Medical Center &#8211; Trophy Club has been the third facility he\u2019s worked at where Medely has been the go-to staffing solution. So when he joined last year as CNO, he was able to seamlessly integrate it into his staffing protocol.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMedely is great,\u201d Adrian shares. \u201cIt\u2019s there when you need it.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And they have needed it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With vacancies and increased callouts, Adrian has used Medely to fill gaps seamlessly.&nbsp; \u201cWe have had some people on assignment for 4-6 weeks at a time. We&#8217;ve had a few people that we just keep re-upping dating back to last fall\u2026That&#8217;s not something we really ever did when I was at the surgery center. But it&#8217;s worked out really well here at the hospital.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to the assignments feature, Adrian has been able to not only maintain safe staffing ratios, but he\u2019s been able to continue supporting the excellent patient care that his facility is known for.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe&#8217;ve had a lot of good people come through,\u201d Adrian shares. \u201cI would speak very highly of the people in the OR because a couple of them have been here since the fall, and they just keep re-upping. There&#8217;s a reason we&#8217;ve kept re-upping them. They&#8217;re great and people we&#8217;d love to have on our own staff.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of these people in the OR is a surgical tech named Ramonica Bryant.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Consistency with favorited OR health professionals<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Ramonica\u2019s journey with Medely started several years ago.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI was googling and searching because at the time I couldn&#8217;t travel from state to state because my kids were still at home. So when Medely popped up, I&#8217;m like, let me just sign up,\u201d Ramonica shared. \u201cI just signed up, and then I was hooked.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"1920\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 1080 \/ 1920;\" width=\"1080\" controls src=\"https:\/\/medely.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Ramonica-video-2.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In between travel assignments, Ramonica picked up per diem shifts, including several per diem shifts with Baylor Scott &amp; White Medical Center &#8211; Trophy Club in 2025. Her outstanding work ethic and adaptability quickly landed her as a favorite at the facility. After a travel assignment outside of Texas, Ramonica knew she wanted to come back to her home state of Texas and stay there for a little bit.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to her status as a Medely favorite, she quickly landed an assignment at Baylor Scott &amp; White Medical Center &#8211; Trophy Club this spring.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve made connections from doing per diem shifts that got me assignments,\u201d Ramonica shared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI love that you can get favorited and how the people who are a favorite have first dibs at those facilities.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/medely.com\/blog\/a-more-consistent-staffing-strategy-how-medelys-favorites-feature-allows-for-better-continuity-of-care\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Favorites<\/a> don\u2019t just benefit the nurses and health professionals, though. They offer facility managers consistent access to reliable pros that the managers know will perform well. \u201cThe favorites are super nice because it allows you to bring those people back,\u201d Adrian shared. \u201cOnce you have the favorites, it&#8217;s easy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Baylor Scott &amp; White Medical Center &#8211; Trophy Club staffing outcomes with Medely<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The ease of using Medely has led to increasingly positive outcomes at Adrian\u2019s facility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since starting to use Medely in 2022, Baylor Scott and White has added 153 nurses and health professionals to their Medely Favorites list. With over 6,000 shifts posted since 2022, 50% of all shifts and assignments have been picked up by favorites. When Adrian has a need, he knows it will get filled quickly and efficiently.
